Q Who are Wessex Harmony?

A We are an enthusiastic group of women, drawn from all walks of life, who love to sing and perform. The choir comprises more than thirty singers and we have two quartets and an octet too!

Q What kind of music do you sing?

A We sing popular songs from across the years. Show songs, jazz classics and modern pop songs — all in four part close harmony.

We sing without accompaniment and rely on our voices to make those chords ring.

Q What kind of events do you sing at?

A We sing in all sorts of places for all sorts of reasons. Recently we have sung in Wimborne Minster, Stourhead Gardens and, one of our favourites, the Ringwood Brewery's Christmas concert!

Q If I want to join do I have to read music?

A No! Most members of the choir don't read music, we learn our songs from specially recorded teach tracks.

Q Is there an audition?

A Yes, there is. We give you a song to learn and allow you plenty of time and help to become familiar with it. Remember, we really want you to pass and, if you can sing in tune, you probably will.
